The College is committed to the delivery of high quality education for its students that is responsive to the occurence of unforeseen events, and responsive to the educational environment. Access to high-quality education can be enhanced by delivering teaching and learning through online technologies and pedagogies.

To outline the policy for the delivery of teaching and learning via any technology enhanced learning. The College shall utilise learning technologies and practices that deliver quality teaching which promotes and supports student learning.

This policy refers to the delivery of teaching and learning via any technology enhanced learning. It includes, but is not limited to modes including: on-line, synchronous, asynchronous, polysynchronous, teleconferencing, digital classes and face to face instruction which incorporates aspects of these.

1. Strategic and operational plans of the College shall recognise and support the delivery of quality online teaching and learning.
2. The College shall utilise learning technologies and practices that deliver quality teaching and promote student learning, safety and ethical practice.
3. Online learning shall be sustainable, appropriately resourced and meet the outcomes of the Learning, Teaching and Research Development Plan.
4. Expectations of students’ access to technology shall be communicated through the admissions process.
5. The College shall adopt flexible and dynamic multi-modal deliveries that respond to student needs, facilitate student engagement, achieve course learning outcomes and display a high standard of pedagogy.
6. Academics and /or Online Support Officers shall maintain a high and effective degree of communication and appropriate relational connection with students learning in an online environment.
7. Strategies that foster an on-line community that nurtures Christian values and ethos shall be embraced.
8. Students shall receive support and training for implemented technologies, to enable them to access online learning components effectively regardless of their social, physical or economic capacities.
9. Student support services shall be made available online and integrated into the teaching and learning environment.
10. Development and support shall be provided to staff to enable the delivery of quality online teaching and learning. Staff shall be encouraged to explore alternative learning techniques and technologies for online delivery of teaching and learning.
11. Teaching and learning that is delivered online shall have quality assurance processes that cover both the pedagogical and technical dimensions. The review of these dimensions shall consider developments in online technology and pedagogy.
12. The College shall endorse low threshold technologies, using, as far as possible, common and free programs (such as web browsers) at the student end, and open source software at the College end.
