Assessment and Grading Policy Monday, 21 September, 2015

The Assessment and Grading Policy establishes a framework for development and implementation of learning strategies; validation of marking and assessment; grading of assessments; and subdivision of grades.

Assessment Moderation Policy

The aim of assessment moderation is to ensure consistency and fairness of the marking and grading processes. Moderation is especially important where units are delivered in multiple modes, at multiple campuses or where the assessment is subjective. Assessment moderation enhances confidence in assessment outcomes for both academics and students, Assessment moderation is applied at three stages: assessment design and development; implementation, marking and grading; and review and evaluation.

Copyright Compliance Policy

This policy outlines how the College will ensure it complies with Copyright law in its use and provision of copyrighted materials.

Course Review Policy

This policy sets the requirements for annual course reporting by the Dean of Learnng and Teaching and review by the Academic Board.

Coursework Course Development Policy

This policy describes the requirements and principles governing the College’s accredited coursework courses.

This policy:

  • Provides a framework to guide decisions regarding the (re)development of the College’s coursework courses;
  • Sets clear responsibilities and accountabilities for approvals and management of the (re)development of academic courses; and
  • Ensures that academic course structures, rules and approval processes are transparent, consistent and fair.

Parallel Teaching Policy

This policy exists to guide where economic and practical circumstances dictate that students from different levels of study are taught simultaneously in the same class.
This policy is necessary to ensure that:

  • The content of units which are intended to be delivered in a parallel teaching format adequately addresses the content needs of different levels of the AQF;
  • The teaching and learning arrangements for the post graduate students especially, are acknowledged and addressed; and
  • The assessment requirements of students studying at different levels of the AQF are in accordance with their relevant AQF levels.
Quality Improvement Survey Policy

This policy specifies the surveys the College conducts, or participates in, for the purposes of Quality Improvement.

Work Integrated Learning Site Selection, Support and Supervision Policy Tuesday, 13 October, 2020

This policy documents how the College approves Work Integrated Learning sites, supports students while they are engaged in Work-Integrated-Learning and ensures the students are adequately supervised.
