Background:

The Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) has a number of standards related to the continuing registration of Registered Training Organisations (RTOs). Clause 1 and Clause 2 of Standard 2 mandate the need for the College to ensure that VET operations are quality assured. Specifically, the standard requires:

Clause 2.1
The RTO ensures it complies with these Standards at all times, including where services are being delivered on its behalf. This applies to all operations of an RTO within its scope of registration.

Clause 2.2
The RTO:

  1. systematically monitors the RTO’s training and assessment strategies and practices to ensure ongoing compliance with Standard 1; and
  2. systematically evaluates and uses the outcomes of the evaluations to continually improve the RTO’s training and assessment strategies and practices. Evaluation information includes but is not limited to quality/performance indicator data collected under Clause 7.5, validation outcomes, client, trainer and assessor feedback and complaints and appeals.
Purpose:

This policy ensures that all operations of the College related to the delivery and assessment of training packages, VET accredited courses and units of competency are quality assured.

Scope:

The policy relates to all VET units of competency, training package qualifications, and accredited courses delivered by the College or any of its teaching partners.

Statement:

The College is committed to systematically reviewing all operations of the College related to the training and assessment of VET programs and units of competency.

These reviews shall ensure that the College complies with the appropriate ASQA standards (currently Standards for Registered Training Organisations 2015) at all times. This compliance also extends to third parties who deliver training or assessment on behalf of the College.

The data from these reviews shall be used to implement changes that will improve the strategies and practices of training, assessing and other operations of the College.
