ATAR - Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (or equivalent).

Vocational Suitability refers to the extent to which an applicant’s personal attributes, values, motivations, and interpersonal skills align with the professional requirements and ethical standards of a given vocation.

Background:

This policy specifies how Commonwealth Supported Places are allocated and managed as required by the Higher Education Support Act.

Statement:

Round of Offers for Commonwealth Supported Places Policy

The College is provided annually with a specified number of Commonwealth Supported Places (CSPs) for eligible students in courses. The College is committed to ensuring compliance with the Higher Education Support 2003 Act; the Higher Education Administrative Information for Providers [1]; Support for Students, and the principles of integrity, justice and transparency in the allocation and administration of CSPs.

The College will offer applicants and students CSPs by making offers in rounds based on the academic merit, vocational suitability and College admissions criteria of eligible prospective and current students.

The College will notify all students in writing of an offer for a Commonwealth Supported Place.

Acceptance of the offer is made by applicants or students by submitting a completed HECS HELP eCAF form before Census date of their first unit.

Non-acceptance of the offer is made by applicants or students by notifying the Registrar, in writing, before their first unit commences, that they do not wish to accept the CSP, or by failure to notify the Registrar of acceptance prior to the Census Date.
