| Critical Incident |
Critical Incident means the term used to refer to a particular incident, episode or crisis that may result in a ‘high’ level of risk, directly or indirectly to the core operations of the College that is outside the protocols of the College's disaster recovery plan. For consistency, the term Critical Incident is preferred to crisis, emergency or other similar expressions. Critical Incidents are the highest level of incident which may affect the operations of the College. Critical Incidents are distinguished from Significant or Routine incidents in that Critical Incidents require special purpose management. Critical Incidents can be further distinguished from Significant and Routine incidents in that a Critical Incident:

| Deferment of Study |
Action by a student to temporarily cease their studies in a given course with an intention to return to study. The College usually allows a maximum of two semesters of deferment. |

| Suspension |
Action by the College to temporarily deny permission for a student to study at the College, with the intent that the student is permitted to return to study at a later time. |

A member of College staff who has that title or responsibilitiy of coordinating Work Integrated Learning for one or more courses. |
